Global Operations Associate - Ocean Freight
Your responsibilities as a Global Operations Associate:
- Own the end-to-end movement of ocean freight (FCL and LCL) shipments into and out of Denmark and Sweden, with potential scope covering the UK. This includes bookings, documentation, shipment follow-up, exception management and coordination with customers, carriers and logistics partners - owning the full operational execution and customer experience.
- Deliver a first-class client experience through proactive communication, problem-solving and timely resolution of operational challenges.
- Leverage Flexport’s technology, automation and AI-powered tools to manage shipments, identify exceptions, make informed operational decisions and continuously improve how we move freight.
- Be responsible for ensuring your work satisfies internal KPIs and SLAs that demonstrate quality delivery, independently managing your priorities and commitments.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) while proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
- Act in the best interest of the company by avoiding leakages and ensuring cost-conscious behavior.
- Support shipments managed by partners as we drive partner autonomy and parity with insourced operations, where applicable.
Requirements:
- Completed professional training as a forwarding agent (speditør) is preferred. Alternatively, a relevant BA/BS degree combined with relevant work experience in freight forwarding, logistics or operations.
- 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics or operations, ideally with hands-on experience in ocean freight.
- Fluent in Danish or Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
- Comfortable working with technology and eager to adopt new tools, automation and AI-powered solutions. Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective time management. Be able to properly prioritize and manage a large volume of task
