Job Summary

The Product Software team at Equinix is looking for a Software Engineer with strong expertise in Python to build scalable full-stack applications, backend services, and microservices. The role requires a solid foundation in software engineering along with experience in CI/CD, DevOps, cloud platforms, and containerized environments.

The engineer will work closely with product, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions, with opportunities to grow into DevSecOps, platform engineering, and AI-enabled development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable applications and services using Python (FastAPI/Flask/Django).
• Build frontend applications using technologies such as React, Streamlit, or HTML.
• Develop and integrate APIs, microservices, and distributed services using REST, gRPC, Kafka, or similar technologies.
• Build and deploy applications using CI/CD, DevOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS/GCP.
• Contribute to application performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Contribute to AI-enabled applications and agentic solutions as the team's requirements evolve.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong experience in full-stack or backend development.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python.
• Good understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-based applications.
• Hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with AWS or GCP.
• Good understanding of software design, testing, and engineering best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Google ADK, OpenAI SDK, LangChain, or similar AI frameworks.
• Experience building MCP servers or agentic solutions.
• Exposure to AI-assisted software development.
