Role Overview
The Global Operations Tech (GOT) organization is responsible for the systems that enable Coupang to reliably deliver to customers within hours of orders being placed. GOT is on a mission to innovate logistics by building an efficient delivery network at breakthrough scale and speeds. As a Staff Backend Engineer in GOT, you will leverage advanced algorithms to improve Coupang’s customer experience by ensuring ultra-fast deliveries are on time even during the busiest times of the year.
What You Will Do
- Design and develop system architecture for Global Operations Technology to ensure stable operations.
- Develop front/back office web services based on the Java platform.
- Identify dependencies across multiple domains and develop system integrations.
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies to enable efficient development and operations.
- Implement optimization algorithms to find the most cost-effective and fastest delivery methods based on rule-based logic.
Qualifications
- Experience developing web applications using Java and Spring Framework.
- 7+ years of programming experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in web application development and operations, or equivalent capabilities.
- Interest in experiencing Coupang’s global-level logistics systems and diverse domains.
- Passion for developing high-availability systems that handle large-scale traffic in a microservices architecture (MSA) environment.
