About the Role

At Xtremax, we build and maintain mission-critical digital platforms and software solutions for public sector and enterprise clients. We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Operations Engineer (Cloud & Infrastructure) to ensure the reliability, stability, and operational continuity of our technical run time environments.

In this role, you will work closely with development teams, product managers, and solution architects to oversee system health, manage incidents, drive continuous infrastructure improvement, and maintain high service availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze the runtime states of multiple product environments (both production and non-production) to maintain optimal system performance and establish proactive operational visibility.
  • Manage application, infrastructure, and security incidents by performing problem determination, root cause analysis, and driving prompt resolution with internal teams and vendors to meet SLAs.
  • Provide reporting and escalation management to leadership and incident committees during critical service disruptions.
  • Implement full-stack and cloud-native monitoring (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Stackdriver, OpenAPM / APM tools) to track uptime, telemetry, logs, and system metrics.
  • Establish change management and incident workflows using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, Zendesk, ServiceDesk) to streamline and automate day-to-day operations.
  • Enforce security and privileged access control measures across test, staging, and production environments.
  • Identify and build process automation scripts (using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or shell scripting) to reduce downtime and minimize human error.
  • Develop operational manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and service records to maintain thorough system documentation compliant with audit and governance standards.
  • Coordinate operational support across team members and vendor partners, ensuring high-availability operations on a 24/7 basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of proven hands-on experience in IT operations, cloud infrastructure support, application support, or systems administration.
  • Practical experience managing cloud infrastructure and services on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (GCC / GPC experience or cloud certifications are advantageous).
  • Proven familiarity with ITSM incident/change management frameworks and APM monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, agile methodologies, and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills across complex systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
